Expect a healtier life with exercise
The American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity each day of the week for most healthy adults. This can help improve cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. Get your doctor's approval before starting any exercise program. It's important to check with your doctor to see if it's OK to lift weights, use an exercise machine, jog or swim and to ensure that pushing heavy objects, and chores such as raking, shoveling, mowing and scrubbing aren't off limits. Set realistic short-term and long-term goals and remember—change takes time.
